Parkview Health - Fort Wayne, Indiana: The PARKVIEW Primary Campus Entrance Feature (PCEF), which is our ‘placemaker’ for the entire $531 million Parkview health campus development, was designed primarily of layers of very thick, patterned, green glass with subtle wave patterns running from end to end. The letters reading PARKVIEW, which identify the gateway into the campus from the south end are a diffused white glass.

During the day, sun light is our illumination tool making the letters a softer white against the green glass. During the evening, the glass comes ‘alive’ from within with banks of cost efficient LED lights. The green glass lights up and the waves become more defined. After all, this campus, and the medical center in particular, is open 24 hours a day. When you light from within, the PARKVIEW letters turn into silhouettes making them darker.

Here are some pictures of the large glass pieces up at Jones Sign in Green Bay, Wisconsin. FMG was responsible for placemaking, wayfinding, environmental graphics, recognition and history wall for this major project.

They have been named one of 10 Top-Notch Charities across the nation by Charity Navigator. A network of nearly 500 food pantries, soup kitchens, senior centers and other agencies, feeding a total of 137,000 people each week, provides more than 53 million nutritious meals annually. Fresh produce, meat and nonperishables are distributed from the new warehouse at 535 Portwall, and hot meals are prepared and distributed from Keegan Center, a 15,000 square-foot industrial kitchen. Additional community services range from nutrition education to assistance with food stamp applications and hands-on job training. Red Barrels offer a convenient way for grocery shoppers to donate nonperishables for their neighbors in need.

The Houston Food Bank, founded in 1982, is a certified member of Feeding America, the nation’s food bank network. The organization plans to grow to an annual distribution of 100 million nutritious meals by 2018.

To celebrate the accomplishments of Silver Cross, both as a historical establishment within the community and as an entity moving forward into the future of healthcare, FMG proposed and designed display kiosks that became permanent fixtures within the new Silver Cross Hospital in Joliet, Illinois. The kiosks were planned and designed as glass panels, elegantly telling the story of Silver Cross.
FMG took a step further, utilizing photographic imagery artistically etched into beautiful clear glass panels. These glass panels are edge lit to illuminate the etched artwork with an internal glow. Multiple panels of glass in layers within each kiosk create a layered, holographic effect. There are five cabinets with ten topical sides of history, imagery and information. Our client stated that this project was a ‘home run’ and a major new ‘wow’ piece for their signature new campus.

FMG also developed the new Silver Cross logo (read more: FMG Logo Design for Silver Cross Hospital Wins Awards!), campus wayfinding program and donor recognition graphics.
